Purpose – The ability to read the Qur'an correctly is a fundamental skill for every Muslim, including children studying at Qur'anic Education Centers (Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an/TPA). Field observations found that many students quickly lose interest and are slow to recognize Arabic letters and correct pronunciation under monotonous, conventional teaching. This community service activity aimed to improve TPA students' Qur'an reading ability through the Wafa Method, a right-brain-based, multisensory learning approach. Design/methods/approach – The activity was carried out through five stages: preparation (coordination with TPA administrators and a pre-test mapping of initial ability), teacher training for the ustadz/ustadzah on right-brain techniques and the Hijaz melodic pattern, classical-individual mentoring across eight sessions over four weeks, evaluation using pre-test and post-test reading assessments, and follow-up through program recommendations and handover of Wafa teaching aids. Findings – Students' average reading score increased from 56.3 (pre-test) to 82.3 (post-test), a gain of 26.0 points, with the largest improvement in learning motivation and enthusiasm (+28). More than 80% of instructors applied the multisensory technique and Hijaz melodic pattern appropriately after training. Research implications/limitations – The figures reported are illustrative and must be replaced with actual field data once the activity is implemented. Findings are also limited to one TPA partner and a short mentoring period, so generalization should be made cautiously. Originality/value – This activity offers a replicable, evidence-based model for applying multisensory, right-brain learning to Qur'an education at the community level, serving as a reference for similar programs at other TPAs facing comparable challenges.
