Quranic Sciences for Community Service is an academic journal dedicated to the publication of research-based community service and community engagement related to the Qur'an and Qur'anic studies. The journal aims to disseminate innovative, contextual, practical, and evidence-based approaches to improving Qur'anic learning, teaching, literacy, memorization, interpretation, accessibility, and community engagement.

The journal seeks to connect Qur'anic scholarship with the real needs of communities by publishing studies that develop learning methods, educational models, teaching strategies, learning media, Qur'anic facilities and infrastructure, digital technologies, and community-based programs for Qur'anic education and literacy.

The journal also aims to promote the practical contribution of Qur'anic studies to community development by encouraging collaboration among Qur'anic scholars, educators, practitioners, community organizations, and other stakeholders.


 

Scope

Quranic Sciences for Community Service welcomes original articles reporting community service, community engagement, applied research, and innovation related to the Qur'an. Its scope includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Qur'anic Learning and Teaching
    Community service programs that develop and implement innovative methods for teaching and learning the Qur'an, including Qur'anic reading, tajwid, recitation, pronunciation, and contextual Qur'anic learning.
  2. Qira'at Learning and Training
    Community-based training, workshops, mentoring, and educational programs on Qira'at al-Qur'an, including teaching methods of Qira'at, variant Qur'anic readings, riwayat and turuq, practical recitation training, and capacity building for Qur'anic teachers, students, santri, and community members.
  3. Qur'anic Memorization (Tahfiz)
    Community service programs focused on Qur'anic memorization, including innovative tahfiz methods, memorization strategies, retention techniques, motivation, assessment, and technology-assisted memorization.
  4. Qur'anic Education and Literacy
    Community-based programs to improve Qur'anic literacy and education in TPA/TPQ, mosques, pesantren, schools, families, and community learning centers.
  5. Qur'anic Learning Media and Technology
    Development and implementation of learning media, digital resources, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, multimedia, gamification, and other technologies to support Qur'anic learning, Qira'at, recitation, and memorization.
  6. Qur'anic Facilities and Infrastructure
    Community service initiatives involving the development, improvement, and utilization of Qur'anic learning facilities, Qur'anic learning centers, mosque facilities, libraries, digital resources, and accessible learning environments.
  7. Qur'anic Teacher and Educator Development
    Training, mentoring, workshops, and capacity-building programs designed to improve the competence of Qur'anic teachers, tutors, instructors, ustadz/ustadzah, and community educators.
  8. Tafsir Literacy and Qur'anic Understanding
    Community engagement programs that improve public understanding of the Qur'an through contextual tafsir, tafsir literacy, thematic Qur'anic studies, dissemination of Qur'anic knowledge, and contextual interpretation of contemporary issues.
  9. Living Qur'an and Community Practices
    Community service programs that strengthen, document, develop, or transform Qur'anic practices, traditions, and cultural expressions within local communities.
  10. Inclusive Qur'anic Education
    Community-based programs that develop accessible Qur'anic learning for children, elderly people, persons with disabilities, marginalized communities, remote communities, and learners with diverse educational needs.
  11. Qur'anic Community Empowerment
    Community service initiatives that apply Qur'anic knowledge and values to address educational, social, cultural, environmental, economic, family, youth, and community development challenges.
  12. Digital Qur'anic Community Engagement
    Community service initiatives utilizing social media, online platforms, artificial intelligence, digital applications, and other emerging technologies to expand access to Qur'anic education and community engagement.

The journal particularly welcomes manuscripts that demonstrate a clear connection between Qur'anic knowledge and community needs, provide a systematic description of the intervention or innovation, employ appropriate methods of implementation and evaluation, and demonstrate measurable or clearly documented outcomes for the target community. The journal accepts interdisciplinary contributions from Qur'anic Studies, Islamic Studies, Islamic Education, Education, Community Development, Social Sciences, Humanities, Information Technology, and related fields, provided that the Qur'an or Qur'anic studies constitutes a substantive component of the research or community-service program.
