Issue Description
Volume 4 Issue 1 of Bulletin of Islamic Research presents scholarly contributions that reaffirm the relevance of Islamic studies in addressing the complexities of contemporary global challenges through an interdisciplinary approach. This issue integrates theological, social, and economic perspectives in analyzing strategic issues emerging within modern Muslim societies. The articles in this issue cover the development of a Qur’anic-based prophetic change management framework, a critical evaluation of speculative business practices from the perspective of Islamic economics, a theological and sociological analysis of interfaith marriage, and a systematic review of the Islamization of management accounting and business decision-making. Conceptually, these contributions reflect a paradigm shift from a purely normative approach toward an integrative framework grounded in the synthesis of revelation, rationality, and empirical realities. Accordingly, this issue offers a significant contribution to global academic discourse by reinforcing the position of Islamic studies as an adaptive, critical, and solution-oriented discipline in responding to ongoing social, economic, and intellectual transformations in the contemporary era.
Author Country Coverage: This issue features contributions from authors across key regions of the Muslim world, including Qatar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. This geographical distribution reflects cross-regional representation—spanning the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa—thereby strengthening the journal’s international character and fostering cross-cultural academic dialogue in contemporary Islamic studies.
